YourTango is looking to hire a seasoned senior editor to publish content focused on love and relationships, emotional intelligence, empowerment and social good.

The ideal candidate has tremendous personal passion for and significant expertise around these topics, including familiarity with the leading writers, healers, thought leaders, publishers, activists, experts and influencers that are active in this space.

The content this person will oversee will take various formats, including powerful first-person essays; thoughtful advice; unique, compelling perspectives; reported stories; interviews; and possibly book excerpts.

Along with a passion and expertise for the subject matter, the ideal candidate will bring a cogent blend of expertise in digital publishing, creativity, entrepreneurialism, and a desire for the content that s/he oversees to make a powerful impact on its intended audience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coming up with compelling story ideas, including connecting the dots and identifying trends before everyone else does
  • Working with staff and freelance writers and journalists to get ideas successfully drafted, edited and published
  • Editing material to make it as clear, grammatically correct, compelling, thorough, thoughtful and on-brand as possible
  • Writing articles and/or doing interviews yourself, as is appropriate
  • Helping to ensure ideas get successfully promoted, distributed and/or linked to
  • Humanizing the news and coming up with with original stories that grab headlines, drive traffic and generate links from other publishers


  • 10+ years of editorial experience for a publisher that covers these topics (such as Oprah, PopSugar, Tiny Buddha, Elephant Journal, SELF, and/or other premium publisher in this space)
  • Expertise in coming up with great story ideas, working with a writer to execute and edit them successfully
  • Expertise in packaging content to ensure it’s clickable and inviting
  • Expertise in getting content shared via social channels
  • Familiarity with search optimization
  • Strong network of writers, editors, contributors and sources for quotes

Director, Audience Development & Analytics

YourTango aims to increase and diversify traffic, including via organic search, social, on various news platforms as well as via more direct traffic; increase user engagement; build a robust, engaged newsletter subscriber base; and harness actionable insights from users consuming our content.

The Director, Audience Development & Analytics, will be responsible for leading the charge to achieve these goals.

We are looking for a self-starter with a strong analytical and marketing background, including SEO and social media expertise as well as a proven track record growing successful online newsletters.

This is a fulltime work-from-home position offering various benefits, including 401K, and competitive compensation.


  • Creating and monitoring dashboards that showcase key commercial insights
  • Analyzing data that leads to actionable insights you communicate to management and key stakeholders and that you ultimately leverage to increase traffic, engagement, repeat/direct visitors, and our social media presence
  • Partner with the key stake holders in our dev/product/business insights team as well as our editorial team to improve our content strategy, achieve audience development goals and improve on our UX
  • Growing YourTango’s newsletter base and other direct sources, such as push notifications
  • Analyzing all current sources of traffic and recommending ways to improve their performance
  • Recommending and overseeing partnerships that help achieve our various marketing objectives
  • Recommending and overseeing strategies to help significantly increase YourTango’s presence in social media, including increasing followers, engagement, and traffic from social sources back to the site
  • Conducting SEO audits, specs, requirements for product, engineering, and editorial teams and guiding projects through conclusion
  • QA on all SEO changes both in the pre-production environment and on the live production sites as well as ad hoc SEO troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Identify new opportunities to improve SEO, suggesting new areas for content creation, and generally informing the broader SEO strategies, including around key word research, tools, optimization techniques and more. Training internal stakeholders and editorial teams on SEO best practices


  • 10+ years proven track record in growing the organic search audience and leading audience development initiatives for one or more significant publishing brands
  • Strong background in analytics, marketing, social media, identifying actionable insights and spearheading initiatives that led to growth for significant digital publishers and/or consumer brands
  • Ability to communicate, demonstrate, and articulate on SEO, analytics, and key marketing philosophies and best practices
  • Advanced technical SEO and analytics skills
  •  Excellent written & verbal communication skills

You May Also Have:

  • Experience leveraging large scale data collection in decision making
  • Web development skills including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax and other programming languages

 YourTango Expert Sales Associate

YourTango Experts is a division of, specifically helping therapists, coaches, educators, authors and healing professionals to market their businesses online and drive both traffic and potential clients to their websites. We are seeking a sales professional to join our team part-time.

Our ideal candidate is someone with:

  • A background in sales and marketing
  • A genuine interest in talking to sale prospects
  • Relationship-minded sales skills
  • Experience and a comfort level with social media tools and techniques
  • Stellar interpersonal and communication skills
  • A natural sense of urgency; ability to juggle many initiatives at the same time
  • Self-motivated skills, only needs minimal attention to perform

Responsibilities to include:

  • Regular conversations (phone and Skype calls) with sales prospects to educate them about joining YourTango Experts
  • Daily use of email, phone and the Internet, including using a CRM system like Sales Force
  • Good writing skills to support the creation of sales and marketing campaigns
  • Keen skills to help identify lead sources and generate new leads
  • An eager and engaged attitude to help experiment with new & alternative ways to market, drive interest to our platform & attract customers
  • A well-oiled and highly functional home office complete with high-speed Internet, computer and phone. Previous experience working from home is a plus.
  • Occasional travel to conferences and trade shows to interact directly with potential customers & promote our product--less than 10% of the year.

Editorial Interns

YourTango is the premier media company dedicated exclusively to love and relationships. We present compelling, brave, and thoughtful editorial content that inspires, nurtures, informs, and entertains.Our ambitious editorial interns on staff work closely with our creative and dynamic full-time editorial team. Interns become an integral part of the YourTango team, learning the ins and outs of the online publishing business, working one-on-one with editors to pitch ideas and writing quality articles for publication. 

Our ideal candidate is someone with: 
  • Excellent writing skills with the capability to produce fast, super-clean copy for publication.
  • The ability (and drive!) to write a minimum of 8 articles per week (within their 22-hour schedule).
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, and typing skills with a passion for writing clean, error-free content.
  • A degree (or currently pursuing a degree) in journalism, magazine journalism, marketing, communication, English, writing, marketing, advertising, or related field. 
  • Stellar interpersonal and communication skills, with a fast-paced, high-energy, can-do mentality.
  • The ability to juggle several tasks at once in a fast-paced online environment.

  • Pitching headline and article ideas daily.

  • Ability to work a SET weekly schedule between the days of Monday and Friday. (Schedule approved at the beginning of the internship).
  • Available to work 22 hrs per week between 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM ET for 16 weeks
Eligibility & Stipend
  • Intern must be located within the continental U.S. 
  • A $500 stipend will be paid upon completion of the 16-week internship via invoice, paper check/EBT.

YourTango is looking for an ambitious and creative intern for a Social Media internship. You will be working closely with our marketing team and surrounded by creative professionals. We have ambitious plans, so if you have an entrepreneurial spirit and love sales and marketing - we'd love to talk.

YourTango is a cutting-edge website about love and relationships with a large and growing audience. We are looking for someone to assist us with our marketing outreach for our latest service launch, YourTango Experts, our channel dedicated to relationship experts.  You will work side-by-side with our sales and marketing team to execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that increases the visibility, membership and traffic for YourTango Experts.  

Our ideal candidate is someone with:

  • A background in marketing or related field
  • Experience and a comfort level with social media tools and techniques
