About Karen Day
Karen Day is the President of Daybreak Therapy and Training, an international network of professionals offering integrative and holistic psychotherapy. She is the author of Breaking the Worry Trance, an online educational program teaching mindfulness-based approaches to healing anxiety. Karen specializes in mind-body psychotherapy to persons experiencing anxiety and trauma related issues including: panic, fears, phobias, OCD, and chronic stress. Karen and her Daybreak Network associates are dedicated to integrating their knowledge of evidence-based and conventional counseling with the ages-old wisdom of mind-body-spirit therapies.
Karen also serves as President for the Canadian Society of Clinical Hypnosis - Ontario Division, and Clinical Director for Daybreak Clinic - a holistic psychotherapy and wellness coaching network in Toronto, Canada. As both a Clinical Counseling Hypnotherapist (C.Hyp™) and Meditation Teacher, she provides professional training, group events, retreats and workshops throughout the year. With over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, Karen has led clinical research initiatives, specifically with respect to mindfulness-based psychotherapy and the impact of mindfulness and meditation on young adults experiencing anxiety in post-secondary settings.
Having taught meditation practices and self-hypnosis strategies to thousands of individuals, Karen makes time each day for her own meditation and reflection. Her approach to life and work is one that nurtures mindfulness, inquiry and compassion. Through Daybreak Therapy and Training, Karen practices a deep commitment to her belief in the innate wisdom and healing potential of every individual, and the unique inter-connections of body, mind and spirit.
