About Judith Coche
Judith Coche decided some time ago that coupling is a satisfying, if complex, way of life for most adults. She should know: a young widow, she has been married to two stellar men for nearly half a century! This rich tapestry of married life has created deep knowledge in marriage, sexuality, parenting of both human and canine kids and, of late, has produced the pure delight of grand parenting.
Dr. Judith Coche is a foremost authority in our world on couples group psychotherapy: she is deeply skilled in work with couples, families, individual, and groups. She has used her extensive training in sociology (B.A.), Child Psychology (M.A.), Human Development (Ph.D.) and Clinical Psychology (Diplomate) to create new modes in psychotherapy with couples, groups, and executive women. She combines clinical practice and academic teaching with the warmth and wisdom of storytelling as she helps client after client transform their lives to become the person they hunger to be.
One of the first women to open a clinical practice in psychology is 1978, she has gone on to become owner of The Coche Center LLC and Clinical Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at the Perelman Medical School of the University of Pennsylvania where she has trained Psychiatric residents and graduate students for 25 years. A Clinical Supervisor in individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy, her training, writing and psychotherapy provides her with depth of knowledge of dating as a mature adult, second marriage, stepfamilies, career success for women, and a rich second adulthood in later years. As part of clinical practice, Dr. Coche has also pioneered the use of a therapy dog since 1985. To schedule an appointment at The Coche Center, please click here.

Judith lives at Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia and at the beach in Cape May County, NJ with husband John and two Portuguese Water Dogs, Oakley and her Mama, Bliss. You’ll find her composing blog posts and books on her bicycle, jumping into the Intercostal Water Way in back of her Cape May cottage, discussing the brilliance of Pixar’s Inside Out with her granddaughters, snuggling a velvety black dog most evenings, or gently bubbling a pot of Julia Child’s coq au vin for beloved family and friends.
