About Deb Johnson

Deb Johnson, ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), CDFA (Certfied Divorce Financial Analyst), and Professional Mediator:  Deb Johnson experienced the life transition of divorce first hand.  It was ugly to say the least!  This experience created her resolve to educate and empower others who would travel the same path because divorce does not have to be a disaster—done properly it can serve as a catalyst for change.

Deb has been involved in the financial services industry in an advisory capacity for over 20 years. She earned her designation as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and is a certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) through the Institute for Certified Divorce Financial Analysts, and a 40 hour mediation certificate through the Collaborative Growth Organization.

Deb is a founder of Divorce Resource Centre of Colorado LLC, a comprehensive financial planning firm specializing in the area of finances and divorce. She works with clients before, during and post-divorce to assist them with making informed decisions relative to their financial affairs at the time of divorce and empowers them to rebuild financially going forward, post-divorce.

Deb strongly embraces the concept of Mediation and Collaboration to resolve family conflict. She is a founding member of the Colorado Collaborative Law Professionals and is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the organization. She has been proactive in creating public awareness of Divorce Mediation and Collaborative Law in Colorado through her participation in radio talk shows and presentations to various professional organizations. Deb has authored a chapter discussing the role of the Financial Professional on the Collaborative Team in a book entitled "Collaborative Law:  A New Model for Dispute Resolution, Bradford Publishing, 2004.
