Our pain doesn’t mean we’re broken, our pain is beckoning us to reignite our souls and reacquaint ourselves with our own deepest truths, dreams, ideals, and possibilities.

About Brooke Sprowl

As a UCLA-trained psychotherapist with a decade of experience specializing in anxiety, depression, relationships, spirituality, trauma codependency, human behavior, and communication, I am passionate about helping people learn practices and skills to elevate their psychological and spiritual journey. Paralleling my professional experience helping people to live lives of greater meaning and transcendence, navigating my own therapeutic journey has provided a deep, experiential understanding of this territory so I come from the point of view, not of an ivory tower expert, but rather of someone who’s reckoned and wrestled with my own psychological and spiritual demons.

With bachelor’s degrees in Neuroscience and Spanish from USC and a master’s degree from UCLA, I possess a strong understanding of the brain and biology and how these forces play out in anxiety, depression, relationships, spirituality, trauma codependency, human behavior, and communication.

As the Founder, CEO, and Clinical Director of My LA Therapy, a rapidly growing therapy practice with offices around Los Angeles, I provide a wide range of counseling services for individuals, families, and couples. In addition to providing psychotherapy to my own clients, I train and oversee a team of 10, teaching them to navigate the subtleties of our complex clinical terrain with passion, authenticity, and excellency. In addition, we have a wellness team offering hypnotherapy, Neruolinguistic Programming (NLP), personal training, massage therapy, and life coaching.

Finally, I'm in the early stages of publication for my book which extensively addresses anxiety regulation, communication, codependency and surrendering to the lessons of relationships called, Why You SHOULD Date Emotionally Unavailable Men: Use Your Unhealthy Relationships to Transform Yourself and Your Love Life. Relationships mirror back our psyches and internal workings; Rather than ending a relationship with someone because of unhealthy dynamics, I advocate for using relational difficulties as a tool to see our own blind spots and how we co-create relationships.

In my experience, when we don’t pursue a relationship to the point of its natural conclusion grounded in peace rather than rash anger, we end up circling back to the same partner over or over or recapitulating the same dynamics with future partners. My book provides practical insights for readers to take responsibility for how each partner creates a feedback loop by perpetuating their ingrained roles. By surrendering to the lessons of our unhealthy relationships we learn what we need to learn about ourselves to break out of our old patterns, transforming our current and future relationships with our romantic partners and––most importantly––ourselves.
